ARBALIST · TECHNICAL TRANSLATIONS

Don’t rely blindly on AI

It sounds right. But is it right?

AI systems can produce highly fluent and convincing translations. In technical documentation, however, a sentence can sound perfect while still being technically wrong.

Errors that no longer look like errors

  • confusing similar components,
  • using a technical term in the wrong sense,
  • misinterpreting an abbreviation,
  • rendering an instruction in a technically incorrect way,
  • changing terminology across a document,
  • adding or omitting information.

AI is a tool, not a quality certificate

The key question is: can someone determine whether the result is actually correct?

My principle:
Use AI where it helps. Do not rely blindly on its output.
