AI systems can produce highly fluent and convincing translations. In technical documentation, however, a sentence can sound perfect while still being technically wrong.
Errors that no longer look like errors
- confusing similar components,
- using a technical term in the wrong sense,
- misinterpreting an abbreviation,
- rendering an instruction in a technically incorrect way,
- changing terminology across a document,
- adding or omitting information.
AI is a tool, not a quality certificate
The key question is: can someone determine whether the result is actually correct?
My principle:
Use AI where it helps. Do not rely blindly on its output.
Use AI where it helps. Do not rely blindly on its output.
